Doha is gearing up to welcome an estimated 1.7 million arrivals as the World Cup prepares to kick off this weekend. Qatar Airways alone is expecting to fly some 20,000 people a day into the city, and FIFA estimates there could be 500,000 visitors in the country on the busiest days.
