On September 6th, United Airlines announced that it would cease all operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at the end of October if the FAA does not approve additional United flights at JFK. The airline currently operates few flights from JFK compared to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), United's major New York hub.
