There's no controversy about it: Greece is, by and large, a summer-seasonal market. While that especially applies to its innumerable tourist-driven islands, it also applies to its capital, Athens. As such, it should perhaps come as little surprise that Ryanair has decided to close its two-aircraft Athens base this winter, ostensibly – as usual – because of a lack of progress on charges. Unless things change again, it'll return next summer.
