Ryanair has celebrated 35 years at Shannon, located in pretty rural west Ireland, two and a half hours from Dublin. The airline first served the airport in 1987 with a route to London Luton using the exciting and loud BAC 1-11. About a decade later, Ryanair became a low-cost carrier, forming the basis of what it is today.
