IndiGo’s plans of wet leasing widebody jets for the long term have reportedly been turned down by India’s aviation watchdog, the DGCA. The airline is getting widebodies to maintain capacity, as many of its narrowbody planes are grounded due to a lack of engines and spares. But the DGCA has no plans of allowing IndiGo to keep the larger jets for more than a few months.
