Mexico is looking at starting a new state-owned airline

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador of Mexico stated the Mexican Army is working on a proposal to create its own state-run airline according to Reuters.

The prospective airline could become airborne in 2023.

Meanwhile flag carrier AeroMexico is a joint venture partner with Delta, which controls 49% of the stock.

Delta took a $770 million charge on its investment after AeroMexico filed for Chapter 11 reorganization.
