Spanish flag carrier Iberia celebrated the launch of its recently-initiated service from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on Wednesday in what marked a significant milestone in the airline's recovery from the drop in demand during the pandemic. The new route was announced in February with its inaugural flight in June and comes as the carrier looks to expand its reach into North America and capitalize on an up-and-coming travel hub.
