On October 21, 2009, a Boeing 707 cargo carrier operated by Sudan Airways crashed just after takeoff from Sharjah Airport (SHJ). Flight 2241 was transporting air conditioning units, auto parts, computers, and tools, bound for Khartoum International Airport (KRT) in the capital of Sudan. Tragically, all six crew members onboard the flight perished in the crash.
