Spirit Airlines shareholders have voted in favor of the airline's sale to JetBlue Airways. The approval comes six months after Spirit agreed to a hefty cash offer from JetBlue. Despite Spirit agreeing to the offer, the road to acquisition for JetBlue has been long and complicated. This approval of shareholders is a significant step towards JetBlue's goal of finalizing the deal by early 2024. The airline still has to face the US government before any official transaction can be completed.
