Exactly 26 years ago today, on October 13, 1996, the Bombardier Global Express long-range business jet made its maiden flight in Toronto a month later than was planned. Manufactured by Bombardier Aviation (formerly Bombardier Aerospace), the Global Express was dreamed up in 1986 following the acquisition of Canadair.
