Two airliners had a near collision incident on Saturday, August 20th, at Pakistan's Jinnah International Airport (KHI) in Karachi. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight was on final approach to land on the same runway that an AirSial flight was taking off. Air Traffic Control is being credited for causing the near disaster. ATC claims it issued a go-around command to the PIA flight, but the pilots' negligence caused the near miss. Pakistani aviation officials are investigating the event, and those at fault will be held accountable.
