It has now been half a century since the hijacking of Ansett flight 232, which was one of the first such incidents to take place in Australia. It involved a Fokker-operated domestic flight, upon which a single perpetrator threatened the crew with a gun. He died in the aftermath, but it would be months before he was identified.
